FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Culture Generation Secures Federal Trademark Registration for World Table®
Federal registration recognizes Culture Generation’s World Table® initiative and its work advancing minority immigrant and BIPOC culinary heritage, cultural tourism, and economic opportunities for restaurants, markets, and food businesses.
KENT, Wash. — September 30, 2026 — Culture Generation, a minority immigrant- and BIPOC-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, has secured federal trademark registration for World Table® on the United States Patent and Trademark Office Principal Register (Reg. No. 8,470,229).
World Table® represents the culmination of founder Christina Arokiasamy’s more than 25 years of work alongside minority immigrant, refugee, and BIPOC chefs, food makers, restaurants, markets, and communities.
Through World Table®, Culture Generation brings the public into restaurants and neighborhood markets across King County to experience food within its cultural context and learn directly from the people who carry these valuable traditions forward. The initiative creates greater public visibility and vital economic opportunities for the small immigrant businesses that sustain these living food traditions.
“For more than 25 years, I have worked alongside communities whose food traditions hold extraordinary knowledge, history, and cultural memory,” said Christina Arokiasamy, Founder, Executive Director, and Cultural Ambassador of Culture Generation. “World Table® grew from that work. It represents our commitment to ensuring these stories are presented with cultural sensitivity, historical accuracy, and respect for the people who carry them.”
Federal registration marks an important milestone as World Table® continues to expand through guided culinary tours, cultural experiences, documentary storytelling, restaurant and market promotion, public education, and direct support for minority immigrant and BIPOC food businesses.
Culture Generation will continue to safeguard the World Table® name and protect the integrity of the work it represents while expanding opportunities for communities and small businesses throughout King County and beyond.
